NEW LUBRICANTS FOR LOW AND MEDIUM CARBON CONTENT WIRE DRAWING

LUBRICANTS FOR DRY DRAWING OF WIRES TO BE ANNEALED OR GALVANISED

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THE NEW LUBRICANTS

• To provide adequate lubrication to the wire
• To contain no compounds that might cause oxidation in the annealing furnaces
• To dissolve easily in acid pickling solutions

THE NEW CALCIUM BASED LUBRICANTS TECNOLUBRE® FM/102P and TECNOLUBRE® FM/180X

• They are able to function at high drawing speeds and guarantee long die life
• They contain no additives that might cause the wire surface to colour during annealing or carbon residues to accumulate in the annealing furnaces
• A slight residue of ash remains on the surface of the wire after annealing which dissolves easily in acid pickling solutions
• Excellent adhesion of zinc to the wire surface

LUBRICANTS FOR WET DRAWING AND SKIN PASS OR FERROUS OR COPPERED WIRES

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THE NEW LUBRICANTS

• Excellent lubrication with low lubricant consumption
• Cleaning properties
• Wire runs freely during coiling and subsequent uncoiling of the wire
• Antioxidant properties for iron and copper
• Low foam generating power
• Products are not dangerous for man or the environment.

THE NEW EMULSIFIABLE LUBRICANTS SINTEK® FL/22 – FL/29 FOR WET WIRE DRAWING

• They are able to function at the highest drawing speeds and guarantee long die life even when used at low concentrations
• They rapidly remove the film of lubricant present on the surface of the wire resulting from the previous dry wire draft to produce final wire with a bright shiny surface
• Their special formulation allows them to function on the latest and most up-to-date drawing machines with no strong generation of foam
• They are completely biodegradable

THE NEW EMULSIFIABLE LUBRICANT AIRPROTECTOR® TS5 FOR SKIN-PASS OF FERROUS AND COPPERED WIRES

• They guarantee excellent lubrication
• They form an extremely light film of wax with very strong antioxidant properties
• The film of wax allows the wire to run extremely freely when coiling and subsequently uncoiling the wire. (example of uncoiling welding wire at constant speed which therefore guarantees uniform welding)
• The maximum formation of ash during the combustion stage makes it suitable for the production of high quality coppered or copper free (CO2) welding wire
• Product contains no alkaline salts and is therefore not an irritant for skin
• Completely biodegradable Many lubricants normally in use can contain dangerous compounds for humans and the environment such as heavy metals, nitrites, borates, sulphides, chlorides or mineral oils.

TECNOVO s.r.l. has developed this new line of lubricants without using any of these substances and this therefore guarantees that these products are “friendly to man and the environment”.

NEW DRAWING DIE K. 340 / K.370 / K.320

The lubrication is one of the crucial factors for the quality of the drawn wire. An interrupted lubrification in the steel wire drawing process causes increase of surface tension in the wire, strong pressures inside the die, rapid die wear, breakage of the drawing nib and consequent non programmed interruptions in the wire drawing process.

In order to avoid these problems, KONER has studied a new concept line of drawing dies - K. 340 and K.370 pressure drawing die (patented worldwide), specially constructed and designed to greatly improve lubrication in dry drawing of steel wire.

With its revolutionary concept, these drawing dies become a real dismountable drawing tools, adapted to meet all operating requirements.

For the wet drawing the K.320 tool has been created, which allows with its particular inside geometry optimum wet drawing process characteristics and also a great economic saving

The K.340 / K.370 / K.320 methods provide considerable operating advantages:

  • Production at maximum drawing speeds
  • Less machine down-time for die replacement
  • better and more homogeneous wire quality
  • wire drawing under optimum quality control
  • nib life increased by 30% and more to traditional dies
  • Overall costs reduced by around 40% (you only change the nib and not the entire die)
  • application of the requested quantity of lubricant coating to the wire
  • better wet or dry redrawing operations
  • the overall dimensions of K.340 / K.370 / K.320 tools are the same as for traditional dies
  • savings on transport - even large quantities of nibs can be delivered rapidly in small packages directly to customers in any part of the world
  • elimination of die rejects and the accumulation of no longer useable drawing dies in the warehouse, return can be gained from the sale of worn tungsten carbide parts
K.340 / K.370 / K.320 Method
• Improved quality
• Increased productivity
• Reduction of die cost

Teconsider has designed a new series of pulling in dogs named TEK for easier and better wire drawing.

The guiding principle, as with existing Tecnosider pulling in dogs, is as always to produce an extremely tough instrument, given the heavy duty working conditions under which they are normally used.

Special new features of the new model include:
• versatility and ease of use: they have been designed for working on both the left and the right hand side;
• both pincers open simultaneously and easily when the lever is operated. The clamps are both fitted with special guides;
• rapid and easy replacement of clamps;
• the wire inserted in the clamps runs inside the pincer and when necessary can come out of the rear of the pincer through a specially drilled guide. This makes it possible to insert a length of wire into the pincer long enough to tighten the clamps on a perfectly intact part of the wire. This is important because it prevents working on the part which the sharpener has worked on, which can easily break because it is very fragile and cause the operation to be repeated and valuable production time lost.

TEK pulling in dogs come in 2 sizes:

  • TEK 15 FOR .1.20 TO 5.50 MM WIRES
  • TEK 28 FOR 2.70 TO 8.00 MM WIRES

DEKOFIL 2000 - THE NEW WIRE ROD MECHANICAL DESCALING, CLEANING AND LUBRICATING SYSTEM

    PATENT PENDING

The new DEKOFIL 2000 system is composed by:

    • DEKOFIL T/500 – Motorised rotating mechanical descaler at variable speed
    • DEKOFIL ND/S 2000 – Motorised rotative cleaner at variable speed
    • DEKOFIL ND/AL 2000 – Rotating die holder with wire rod pre-lubricating system

DEKOFIL 2000 system represents the evolution of studies and experiences of over 25 years and resolves definitely the problems connected with wire rod hardening induced with traditional descaling systems. An ulterior news is the cleaning system. Traditional techniques with rotating brushes, steel wool or shot-blasting, present well known inconveniences: that is why these methods, after some time are completely separated or, if left in line, rarely used. DEKOFIL 2000 system is completed by an innovative rotating die holder, that has also a function of wire rod pre-lubrication.

DEKOFIL T/500 – Motorised rotating mechanical descaler at variable speed

TECNOSIDER has realised a rotating descaler that associates a torsional action of wire rod around its own axis to a bending guaranteed inside the limits of the elastic field in strain-stress diagram. The obtained effect is a controlled lengthening of surface fibres of the wire rod and complete calamine detachment, without modifying or compromising mechanical characteristics of the wire rod. Descaling action is completed by a strong air jet action at very high speed. Wire rod inserting into the descalers is extremely easy and fast.

DEKOFIL ND/S 2000 – Motorised rotative cleaner at variable speed

DEKOFIL T/500 descaling system eliminates residual rolling scales, but part of very fine and adherent oxide can still remain on the wire rod surface. These fine oxides can cause abnormal drawing die wear and can be particularly harmful in wet drawing. The presence of these oxides is also a cause of bad wire cleaning. TECNOSIDER cleaning system consists in subjecting the wire rod to a very gentle action of oxide removal that does not damage wire surface, does not cause wire scratching and makes the wire surface ready to the lubricant adhesion.
Determining advantage of DEKOFIL ND/S 2000 cleaning system is a continuous regenerating capacity of the cleaning mean:

    1. Differently from traditional methods with brushes or steel wool, that are rapidly polluted with oxides and loose their cleaning power, DEKOFIL ND/S 2000 system continues its action by renewing itself continuously and self governing
    2. Oxides are continuously detached from the wire, eliminated from the cleaning rotor and conveyed in the box at the bottom of the machine. This allows to the cleaning mean to operate with efficiency and time constancy without necessity of operator maintenance.
    3. Fine oxides cleaning action is completed by a strong air blowing jet at very high speed.

DEKOFIL ND/AL 2000 – Rotating die holder with wire rod pre-lubricating system

To guarantee an optimal result, after the descaling and cleaning line, TECNOSIDER has developed an innovative rotating die holder. The rotating die uses two patented pressure dies which task is to press the necessary amount of lubricant on the wire. Other then this, it represents a news regarding the die cooling and the die substitution. It has a direct cooling system similar to that of fixed dies, which allows the die to work at lower temperature, by favouring its lifetime and increasing lubrication. Also the die locking is similar to the system used in fixed dies. In fact, with a simple partial tap rotation it is possible to extract and substitute the die, instead of complicated operations necessary for the substitution of traditional rotating dies.

    QUALITY ADVANTAGES

All components of the production process are carefully inspected for conformity to specifications following rigorous quality control procedures:

    • Unqualified die grinding service can't guarantee the respect of geometrical tollerances of drawing dies
The user is committed to buy new drawing dies with precise technical specifications and performs specific controls on them to verify the respect of tollerances
The same attention is not dedicated to the control of worned dies which, in the wire drawing process, have the same importance of the new ones
This causes uncontrollable wire drawing conditions, unexpected machine downtimes, wire out of specification with consequent loss in production and non-homogeneous quality of the wire.

These hidden costs are usually underevaluated, because rarely the reconditioned drawing dies get controlled, by erroneously assuming that them have exactly the same geometrical characteristics of the new ones

Koner dies provides a thorough, prompt and precision die grinding and reconditioning service.
